Province Lake Golf Course in Parsonsfield hosts a “Chip in for Charity” each week throughout the summer. The purpose of the program is to help non-profits in the local community gain awareness for their cause and to give back to the organization. The golf club holds a raffle, and there is also a donation box and information booth in the pro shop. Two dollars of each greens fee also goes to support LifeFlight when the player checks in and tells them they are playing for LifeFlight.
The raffle is provided by LifeFlight of Maine and includes LifeFlight gear (a tote bag, LifeFlight’s special brew of coffee, a travel mug, baseball cap, winter hat, golf ball, tees, alignment tool and a LifeFlight of Maine Lewiston Base tour for up 6 people) and two hand carved pens.
In 2012, the Province Lake Golf Course raised more than $100 for LifeFlight of Maine. For more information, contact Province Lake Golf Course at 207-793-4040 or visit their website at www.provincelakegolf.com.
